Obituary

Peter Toews Isaac was born to David T and Elizabeth Toews Isaac on August 25, 1924.

He passed away in the morning on Sunday, July 29, 2018, peacefully in his sleep, at the age of 93 at Maplewood Manor, Steinbach, MB.

At the age of 16, he was baptized upon the confession of his faith. He loved and embraced his faith till the end.

He grew up on a farm west of Rosenort. He married our mother, Helen Sophia Giesbrecht, on July 21, 1957 at Crooked Creek, AB.

Dad had various occupations, several winters in the bush camp, moving buildings with Frank Dyck for 10 years, and for Manitoba Pool Elevator up until his retirement.

He knew no strangers, everyone was a new friend he hadn’t met yet. Exchanging pens was a favourite hobby!

Those left to cherish fond memories are his wife, Helen of 61 years; one son, Lee and Linda Isaac of Lobelville, TN; three daughters: Dianna and Keith Barrett of Vernon, BC, Delia and Delton Toews of Leesburg, OH and Patricia and Eugene Toews of Newbern, AL. Sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Special friends who have become family: Wes and Erika Cooper; Derek, Christa and Tiegan Cooper; Dan, Patty, Catria, and Kieran Atwell.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, four brothers-in-law, and two grandsons.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Rosenort, MB.

Ministers Mark Hiebert, Daniel Reimer, David Duerkson will be officiating at the funeral.

Interment will take place at the adjoining church cemetery.
