After a brief but courageous battle, Darren was called home on Friday, August 17, 2018.
He will forever be missed by his wife Paula. Also left to cherish his memory … his little sister Angella (Brady), his twin Dean, his oldest brother Mike (Adele), and brother Jason. He is also survived by his son Scott and many nieces and nephews.
Darren was predeceased by his parents, Herb and Myrna McMillan.
Darren was a welder by trade, acquiring his Red Seal and Pressure tickets at Sait University. Darren had Irish eyes that smiled, and his sense of humor carried us through to the end. He was friends with everyone he spent time with, whether in his personal life or work or social media sites that he loved. Fishing was one of Darren’s favorite pastimes, casting a line across the provinces until settling down in Manitoba. Having a loving, faithful dog was always an important part of Darren and Paula’s family life. The ones missing his presence now are Rosie, Ozzy, Chance and Sochi and of course Miss Kitty too. I’m certain Darren has already been reunited with Axle and Bobby at the Bridge.
As per Darren’s wishes, cremation has already taken place and will be in safe keeping until they can be reunited with Paula’s and the furkids, therefore no formal services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to WHS or HHBCR in Manitoba, or your favorite Rescue in your Province.
Thank you to Dr. Paul de Moissac for all his compassion through this battle and added support by Dr. Pierre de Moissac and Dr. Cooney.
