“The loss is immeasurable, but so is the love you left behind.
To the world you were one person, but to us, you were the world.”

Rosaire was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Alice, and two sons, Maurice and Renald Roy, his parents Antonio & Marie-Louise Roy, his brothers Charles-Auguste, Jean-Baptiste, Raymond, Dominique, Antonio Jr., Germain; his sisters Therese, Jeanne, Rose, several sisters-in-law and brothers-in law, son-in-law Luc Tessier, parents-in-law Albert and Suzanne Lecuyer, and several other members of the Lecuyer family.
He is survived by his siblings: Cecile Gagne, Richard Roy (Anne-Marie), Louis Roy. He is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews from the Lecuyer side of the family.
Rosaire was a man with gentle strength, known for his tears of love for his family as well as his quiet strength and leadership. His journey on this earth was one marked by devotion to his family, even when he sometimes struggled to express it with his words. His passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family and all those who were privileged to know him.
Rosaire was born and raised in Otterburne. He eventually met his wife in Ste. Agathe, and they raised their family together in Otterburne. He was a dedicated and loyal provider for his family.
Rosaire was an accomplished carpenter and butcher. He worked on many job sites as a foreman over the years, but one particularly stands out. He worked for several years for Macaw MacDonald Ltd. as a foreman constructing bridges. He had a reputation for being a strong but fair leader.
He was an avid gardener and his gift for making fresh tomato juice and dill pickles with his loving wife was unmatched. He also had a love for cooking in general, and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles in his spare time. Rosaire had an extraordinary love for children and a wonderful sense of humor, known for telling ‘dad’ jokes. He especially enjoyed singing and dancing with his beloved wife, Alice. They always led the way by being the first ones on the dance floor.
Although Rosaire’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff in St. Pierre hospital who cared for Rosaire over the past few weeks.
We will always carry his memory in our hearts.
Funeral Mass to be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at Paroisse – Saint-Viateur, 37, rue Main, Otterburne, Manitoba.
