Tania Bastida, 48, of Steinbach, Manitoba, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, leaving an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of all who loved her.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Israel Castillo, and their daughters, Leila and Ana, who were the center of her world and her greatest joy. Her love for them was boundless, and her presence will continue to guide and embrace them throughout their lives.
Tania and Israel married in 2001 and built a home filled with affection, resilience, and shared dreams. They lived in Mexico until 2015, when they courageously chose to begin a new chapter in Canada. Throughout that journey, Tania was the heart and strength of the family. With extraordinary determination, she worked tirelessly – at times holding two full-time jobs – to ensure her daughters and husband had everything they needed in their new life. Her devotion, bravery, and unwavering generosity left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
She found joy in traveling with her family, creating memories that are now treasured beyond measure. She also loved embroidery and watching television series, small moments that brought her peace and comfort. In Canada, Tania found a second family at Main, Bread and Butter, a place where she felt valued, supported, and truly at home.
The memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., where family and friends will gather to honor her life and say their heartfelt goodbyes.
The family extends special thanks to the Main, Bread and Butter family for their kindness, support, and for being such an important part of Tania’s life.
Con profundo dolor, la familia anuncia el fallecimiento de Tania Bastida, de 48 años, residente de Steinbach, Manitoba, ocurrido el 28 de febrero de 2026. Su partida deja un vacío inmenso en los corazones de quienes la amaron.
Tania deja en este mundo a su esposo, Israel Castillo, y a sus hijas, Leila y Ana, quienes fueron siempre el centro de su vida y su mayor orgullo. Su amor por ellas fue inagotable, y su presencia seguirá acompañándolas en cada paso que den.
Tania e Israel unieron sus vidas en 2001, construyendo un hogar lleno de cariño, fortaleza y sueños compartidos. Vivieron en México hasta 2015, cuando emprendieron el valiente camino de comenzar una nueva vida en Canadá. En ese proceso, Tania fue el corazón y la fuerza de la familia. Con una determinación admirable, trabajó incansablemente – incluso en dos empleos de tiempo completo – para asegurar que nada les faltara en su nuevo país. Su entrega, su valentía y su generosidad inquebrantable dejaron una huella profunda en todos los que la conocieron.
Disfrutaba profundamente viajar en familia, creando recuerdos que hoy se vuelven tesoros. También le encantaba bordar y ver series de televisión, pequeños momentos que le brindaban paz y alegría. En Canadá, Tania encontró una segunda familia en Main, Bread and Butter, un lugar donde se sintió querida, valorada y verdaderamente en casa.
El funeral se llevará a cabo en Birchwood el 12 de marzo a las 11:00 horas, donde familiares y amigos podrán reunirse para honrar su vida y despedirse con amor.
