Obituary

Susie Brandt, 92 years, of Blumenort, MB., was called to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Saviour, on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses: Leroy & Jane, Debbie & Robert, Patricia & Dalen, Elaine & Mike, Curtis & Jacqueline and Myra & Chris. She is deeply loved and will also be remembered by her 31 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Leonard and her son Gary, three children who died in infancy, as well as her parents.

Susie was born September 22, 1933 in Neuendorf, Russia. As a 10 year old girl along with her family they left Neuendorf during World War II and ended up in Germany two years later at the end of the war. Here they lived for a few years before making a 10 day journey by ship across the ocean to Canada. In 1954 she married Leonard and together they raised their family in Blumenort on their family farm. A few years after Leonard passed away in 2008, she moved to Oakview Manor in Blumenort and lived there until her passing.

Family and faith were extremely important to Susie, she loved gathering regularly for meals with all who could attend. She welcomed her grandchildren and made an effort to get to know their partners.

A Come & Go viewing will be held Friday, March 6, 2026, from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB.

The celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Blumenort Community Church, Blumenort, MB.

A private family interment will take place at Blumenort Community Church Cemetery, Blumenort, MB.
